Confidential Meeting Pods for Not-for-Profits – Domestic Violence NSW, Sydney
Heritage buildings and confidential case discussions don’t naturally go together — construction constraints make acoustic separation difficult. Domestic Violence NSW needed serious privacy for sensitive advocacy work, without touching a single heritage wall. We installed multiple Boardroom Pods and a Connect Pod to give their team the acoustic separation they needed.
The Challenge
DVNSW operates from a beautiful heritage building. That history is worth preserving, but heritage buildings come with real construction constraints.
At the same time, their work demands total confidentiality. Case discussions, service coordination, sensitive advocacy conversations – none of it can be overheard. A standard meeting room refresh wasn’t going to cut it. They needed proper acoustic separation, without touching a single heritage wall.
There was also a space challenge, wherein they wanted to maximise one dedicated area.
The Solution
We installed several Boardroom Privacy Pods, plus a Connect Pod, all within a single room. We configured the layout specifically to maximise the available space.
The Boardroom Pod is our flagship model for serious meetings. Each one seats up to eight people around a large executive table. Four sofas and a built-in 32-inch smart monitor were included, ready for presentations and virtual conferencing. The 51mm acoustic walls cut noise by approximately 24 decibels, ensuring what’s said inside stays inside.
The Connect Pod sits alongside them. It provides a quieter space for focused or sensitive one-to-two person conversations. Together, the setup gives the team real flexibility while maintaining privacy. Large group sessions in the Boardroom Pods. Smaller confidential discussions in the Connect Pod. All in one dedicated area.
Every pod runs off a standard power outlet, so there’s no fixed wiring required. We delivered and installed everything on site – no disruption to the building, and no disruption to their important work.
Why It Works
For DVNSW, privacy in the office isn’t a nice-to-have, it’s essential. Staff need to speak openly about complex, sensitive cases. Eight ventilation fans, tempered safety glass, and walls engineered for silence make that possible.
